A man Alone (1955)
Skull, found in France, with a knife still embedded it it. The skull belonged to a Roman solider who died during the Gallic Wars, ca. 52BC. It was on display at the Museo Rocsen in Argentina.
Whenever I see things like this, I wonder how they died. I guess it will always be a mystery.

Maria Yakunchikova - Blossom tree, 1899.
Maria Yakunchikova was Russian Art Nouveau artist. She worked with Sergei Diaghilev in his magazine “Mir iskusstva”, took part in activity of a famous Abramtsevo Colony of artists.
She was highly respected as talented painter by her male colleagues, such as Alexander Benois, Vasily Polenov etc. But she died in age of 32 and her artistic career was tragically interrupted.
